Scholarships and Grants

The Washington State Elks Association and The Elks National Foundation sponsors several scholarships and grants, listed below.

"The Most Valuable Student" Scholarships

Four-year scholarships, open to all graduating high school seniors based on financial need, leadership and scholarship.

The Washington State Elks Association Vocational Grant

Open only to graduating senior high school students, and general education students receiving a diploma or certificate during the current program year. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States on date the application is filed and he or she must be seeking an educational course or training, culminating in an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certificate. Course or training must not exceed two (2) years. NOTE: Students seeking education which requires a Four (4) year degree are ineligible for this program. Applications must be filed with the Elks Lodge having jurisdiction in the area of the student's legal residence.

Dorothy Yothers Memorial Scholarship

Open to any female over 25 years of age who plans to pursue an eligible Vocational/Technical course in the state of Washington , above and supplemental to high school or preparatory school level. All applicants must be citizens of the United States of America on the date the application is filed. This application must be filed with The Washington State Elks Association. This scholarship is not intended for women seeking Bachelors Degrees or post graduate degrees.

Legacy Awards

One-year merit-based scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks who are members in good standing.

Emergency Education Fund Grants

One-year educational grants available to children of deceased or totally incapacitated Elks.
