Purpose/Mission:

Our Elks Lodges are rightfully proud that they've been directly involved with Boy and Girl Scouts, PRIDE, Local schools and Police Departments, State Police, County Sheriffs, YMCA, YWCA, libraries, Youth Service Bureau, Chemical People, DARE, Hoop Shoots, the County and State Drug Prevention Specialists and the Drug Prevention Task Force people.

Betty reminds all Lodges that the Drug Awareness materials are FREE and include pencils, bookmarks, book covers, coloring books and more. Many Lodges make Drug Awareness Program an integral part of Halloween and other Holiday activities, set up kiosks at local Malls, and use a variety of community gatherings to spread the word about illicit substances.

The abuse of illegal substances is expanding and the Washington Elks are determined to reach these kids in their formative years... in elementary schools; if we don't try, we'll lose many promising leaders for our communities, our state and our country. The Lodges provide the time and effort.... and the Washington Elks Drug Awareness Committee provides all the materials at no cost to our local Lodge budgets.

The Washington Elks stand ready to assist any organization or school in Washington with one of the most comprehensive Drug Awareness and Prevention Programs in America.
